“CAL FIRE staff would like to remind forest visitors that the old trailhead off Grouse Rd/Entrance Rd is on private property and does not exist as a public access point into Boggs Mountain Demonstration State Forest. Visitors are to enter from Highway 175 to Forestry Road at the main entrance as indicated on the map. Mountain bike racing returns to Boggs Mountain Demonstration Forest
Friends of Boggs Mountain has worked tirelessly since allowed back into the forest in 2018 to rebuild the trail system that was destroyed by the Valley Fire. With the completion of over eight miles of new trails, this year Boggs will host two races: Bike Monkey eight-hour endurance race on Saturday May 7 and the Norcal Championship race for high school age kids on Saturday May 21st. Race details will be posted on our website and Facebook page prior to each event. The forest will remain open for all users however please be advised that trails used for the racecourse should likely be avoided during the races. Both organizations go to great lengths to accommodate all users but please be mindful of racers and spectators on race days. We encourage anyone interested to come out to enjoy the festivities.
