Thank you to all the volunteers who came out to help with our second trail workday in Boggs Mountain Demonstration State Forest. Our goal for the morning was to clear the remaining corridor for Boggs Peak Trail. Volunteers cleared burned trees and debris from our previously flagged alignment and removed organics in preparation for trail construction. Thank you for sharing your morning rebuilding community trails for everyone to enjoy and enthusiastically asking questions related to trail building and why we build the way we do. A well thought out trail system built with structural integrity will withstand harsh environmental elements, accommodate heavy use while reducing preventable repairs and most importantly provide outdoor enjoyment for everyone. Boggs Peak trail will be built like Gail’s Trail and will ultimately connect to the completed trails currently in use. Thank you for supporting rebuilding Boggs trails. We’re grateful for your support and look forward to continuing to support volunteer opportunities to rebuild Boggs trails. If you'd like to be included in future volunteer days, email email@example.com to get the latest trail work updates. We'd like to give a huge shoutout to South Lake County Fire Protection District for the donation of 2 pretty rad backpack sprayers to have on hand for safety. Using tools, even hand tools can cause sparks and in windy conditions we all know what can happen especially in dry grass. Safety first 😎 ... See MoreSee Less
