Recently one of our equestrian members reported an incident in the forest which calls for reminding all users of proper trail etiquette for the comfort and safety of all. Please remember mountain bikers yield to hikers, trail runners and equestrians. If a mountain bike encounters any one of these forest users please pull off the trail and let them pass. If approaching from behind a simple verbal call out to let them know you need to pass will usually suffice.. If encountering a horse and rider it is usually recommended that you slow and pull off the trail on the downhill side but it’s best to inquire with the rider. Speaking of trail etiquette, please remember to keep all dogs on leash.
