Friends of Boggs Mountain invites you to become a member and share in the recovery efforts of our beloved forest. Your support helps our mission and work in trail building/maintenance, forest cleanup, stewardship, education, and improving recreational experiences at Boggs. As a member, you’ll be included in our email alerts for upcoming events.
As members do not receive any goods or services, your donation should be tax-deductible to the full extent of the law. However, please consult your tax advisor as IRS and CA State Franchise Board charitable contribution laws have been modified since 2017 and deductibility may depend on your particular tax situation. We’re always on the lookout for committee members!
With our new members, we hope to find representatives from the interest groups using the forest so that we eventually create a balanced representation of members in these categories and related activities:
- Hiking/Naturalist
- Mountain biking
- Horseback riding
- Hunting
Educational and Interpretive Committee: establish interpretive and educational center, interpretive signage, self-guided nature trail, trail signs, interpretive trail guides.
Activities Committee: coordinate fun activities such as moonlight hay rides, guided hikes, star gazing events, scavenger hunts, bike rides, horse rides, cross country runs.
Fundraising Committee: implement a fundraising plan through activities and grant writing.
Promotional/Membership Committee: implement a membership drive, coordinate open houses, develop a public relations plan.
