Bike Monkey Race 2024

May 4, 2024

For the 19th year Boggs Mountain Demonstration State Forest hosted the Bike Monkey Eight Hour Mountain Bike Race. Despite a cold rain that soon turned to snow, 200 riders started the race at 9:00 am Saturday morning. By the end of the race at 5:00 pm a bedraggled muddy group of riders sailed past the finish line. It was an eventful, highly memorable day for all who participated.

FOBM, once again,  set up a booth to sell t-shirts and other merchandise as well as hosting the beer bar. The cold didn’t seem to dissuade the riders and other guests from enjoying a cold beverage after, and even during, the event helping us to generate enough money to fund a few more miles of trails. Thanks again to Bike Monkey for allowing us to participate and all who helped pull it off!

Bike Monkey has a long history of support for Friends of Boggs Mountain and has been an outstanding steward of the forest. All are welcome to come and enjoy the race. That said, if you’re seeking peace and solitude you might want to choose another weekend, or another trail. For more information and the race course click https://www.boggs.rocks/
