Hoberg’s Loop Now open!

Thanks to our intrepid trail crew Hoberg’s Loop was completed on Saturday Oct. 19. You may have encountered the fork off of Mac’s Trail already but, if not, check it out. According to our sources, Hoberg’s Loop was  the first trail built on BMDSF when Hoberg’s resort was a major destination for the Bay area so it likely dates back to the 1950’s or perhaps earlier. It’s great to have it back!

Hoberg Loop, one of the original trails established at Boggs, is nearing completion. On the morning of Saturday October 19 we plan to organize a group to finish the work and fine tune the trail. The work will include the use of mcleods, rakes and shovels. Please RSVP to [email protected] if you wish to join us. Spots are limited so respond as soon as possible. Lunch will be provided by FOBM with more details to follow for those who plan to attend.

We’d like  to offer a huge shout out to Calpine for, once again, putting a whole lot of muscle into working with FOBM to start clearing the path for Grizzly Trail. On Thursday September 19, a small army of Calpine employees joined us in cutting in the first section of the trail. Chris Moe followed up this week with our Bobcat excavator, which Calpine also made possible, and continued with bringing back Grizzly Trail. Thank you to all the Calpine employees and FOBM members who made the day a success!
